This is the fourth film adaptation of the novel by Tadeusz Dolenga-Mostowicz. In the new version, the creators of the film significantly expanded the lines of the main characters.

The plot of the film is based on real events that occurred in 1972. Several surviving passengers from the fateful flight made cameos in the film.
